About
Who Am I?¶
My name is Jaimin and I'm in my 20s, living in the UK.
What Do I Do?¶
In my spare time, I enjoy exploring several areas:
Language Learning¶
(Learning human languages)
- Japanese (this has been the language I've been learning the longest)
- Latin (I'm currently learning this alongside Japanese in the hope of reading old texts)
- Gujarati (since I'm half Indian (Gujarati), I am currently learning how to read and write it at least, whilst looking at the Grammar)
Programming¶
(Learning programming languages with small exercises and projects)
- Haskell (I wrote my dissertation in this language, and have enjoyed the most and am quite familiar with, however it has been some time since I used Haskell)
- Assembly (a recent interest of mine since I've been looking at low-level programming and how computers work)
- BASH (I've been learning scripting to learn how to automate things, but also as a general tool when interfacing with UNIX-based computers)
Engineering¶
(Building stuff)
- Electronics (since I've been looking into how computers work I want to get the basics right, and so I'm exploring how they work fundamentally)
- Radio (I do some casual radio DXing on a shortwave radio, so learning how radios work with the ARRL Handbook is something I dabble in)
- Software Programming Projects (for the aim of creating useful software, using my GitHub repository).
Arts¶
(Writing and creating other things of more general meaning)
- Essays (I write essays after some thought on things I find interesting in the hope that I might offer some additional insight)
- Poems (I enjoy writing poems in order to convey some meaning I find important)
- Audiobooks (I enjoy recording various books on my YouTube channel)
- Stone Carving (I enjoy engraving stone/bricks with hand chisels when I have the time)
- Calligraphy (I enjoy primarily practising western calligraphy)
The Nature of My Writings¶
When it comes to my writings, I primarily write in order to find out the truth of the matters I'm writing about. I try to write in the clearest way possible, but if anything I write is unclear or incorrect in any way, I can only apologise. I keep such written pieces available in the hope that they may at least be useful to see where it is possible for a line of thought to go wrong.
For clarity, I have labelled such works which I deem inaccurate or outdated as being so, but there may be some that slip through the cracks, and so I would just like to make that point clear here.
If it seems like I have caused offence in anything I write, then please know that I do not mean to. In saying that certain things are true, it is simply unavoidable to judge other things as being false - this is the only way which I know I may be seen as causing offence.
